Due to a mixture of social behaviors occurred right after the fall of the communism, Romania’s villages depopulated massively. Without a youngster generation this communities are on the verge of disappearing.

There are villages in Romania having between 1 to 5 inhabitants living in total solitude.

Beyond the World tells the story of the last living people from these communities and their way of coping with extreme life
conditions.
